Time for refreshment!

According to Aaron Barnett of BangingToolbox: Builders, tradies, and DIY’ers always need a hot or cold beverage to keep us going when we are busy. However, sometimes we turn to unhealthy drinks instead of making something better ourselves.

If we can make something better than what we buy from the shop when building a table, we can do the same DIY for better results when we hydrate ourselves!

You don’t have to be a granny and drink hot teas to be healthy. You can make iced teas that are tasty, cold, and refreshing.

Did you know that there are better tasting, healthier, and almost free alternatives to what comes from the factory when thirst comes to your heat-induced drinking needs?

What can keep you quenched during a hot day in the sun and save you a bit of fuel and time from driving to the nearest bakery?

There should be no excuses for keeping healthy while on a building site after you read this .

What you do need, though, after reading below is a freezer and a kettle on the Jobsite or in the workshop to make a healthy drink.

Why make an iced drink with Teas or Cocoa powder?

There are many types of teas you can pick and choose from to add flavor to an otherwise boring cup of water.

Most teas contain a small amount of caffeine for energy and are balanced with L-Theanine, which can be said to remove the negative side effects of caffeine anxcity. The substance can help reduce blood pressure from working a lot with your power tools.

Most if not all teas have a range of other health benefits as well.

So do your research and find out what iced tea drink is good for you. Or a hot one if it’s a cold day and your boss won’t let you go home.

Ginger tea

Using powdered ginger for making a sugar-free ginger ale is another excellent healthy worksite drink.

The trick is to have the drink ice cold so that the liquid tastes refreshing and good without any sugar.

You can likewise make hot ginger tea on a cold day.

Benefits of drinking iced ginger tea

  • Good for the heart.
  • Ginger can help to strengthen your immune system on a cold day at work.

Iced green tea

Green tea is known as a superfood for health in japan and china and can be made both cold and hot.

Heating green tea to boiling point kills a bunch of what is inside and can burn the flavor.

Most advanced green tea advocates only heat the water to 80 degrees (You can get unique kettles for this). Or just wait for the water to cool down a bit before mixing.

Keep this in mind for dissolving all types of teas.

Making ice green tea yourself is much better than any premade green tea you can buy with a ton of sugar.

First, make ice tea yourself, and you will taste what I mean.

But I find if you regularly drink green tea, you start to become sick of the bitterness. That is why you must try the other ideas above.

Benefits of drinking iced green tea

  • Increases burning of fat.
  • Caffeine content is high and is balanced with L-Theanine.
  • Can improve brain function.
  • Known to clean your body from toxins.

Iced jasmine tea

Jasmine tastes better than green tea, in my opinion, if green tea is too bitter for you. Jasmine tea is more smooth and refreshing when made as an Ice tea compared to Ice green tea. With many of the same benefits.

Benefits of drinking iced jasmine tea

  • Boosts brain function
  • Good for heart health
  • Contains many antioxidants
  • Aids in weight loss.

Iced rosella hibiscus tea

Popular with girls, Rosella can help with Mensual pain. But if you want something that tastes sweeter but isn’t actually sugar this is another tea flavor idea with some health benefits.

Benefits of drinking Rosella tea

  • Weight loss.
  • An antidepressant.
  • Clean you from toxins.
  • Helps with colds and flues.
  • Contains vitamins.
  • Can help strengthen your immune system.

How to make an iced tea for carpenters?

To prepare:

Half-full bottles of water in your Jobsite freezer so that you always have bottles that are 50% Ice ready to go.

  1. Full a water bottle that is 50% ICE with water to reach 80%.
  2. Mix the tea or 2 teaspoons of powdered tea in a small cup of hot water to dissolve it.
  3. Mix the tea or dissolved powder with the water in the bottle.
  4. Shake the bottle so that ice separates from the sides, and the liquid surrounds it; the hot water will melt the ice a bit.
  5. Ready to drink, sip slowly so that you don’t drink all the flavor before the ice melts.

Should you add sugar?

Even if you add 1 or half a teaspoon of sugar, the sugar would be insignificant compared to any purchased premade drinks that have 10-20tsp. If you are doing intimated fasting, any sugar would break the fast.

I find no noticeable benefit when adding sugar. You don’t need sugar when you get used to drinking sugarless drinks. In fact, I find Tea with sugar tastes bad after drinking sugarless drinks for some time now.

You will start adjusting and becoming sensitive to the natural sweetness.

Other flavors?

When you need to drink something different between or during your meals on the building site, you can follow this same procedure above for making an iced drink, using any flavor from any tea bags or powder that you find.

Be creative. Green tea isn’t the only option, and green tea doesn’t taste the best for everyone either.

You can mix different flavors of tea.

Make a fruit smoothie!

If you need more energy, a smoothie is another way to go about a healthy drink choice if it’s only 1 per day. A smoothie does contain a lot of sugar but at least the sugar is in a more natural form. And will be full of vitamins and antioxidants.

Sugar in fruit is different from processed sugar but is still sugar.

Blueberry and banana smoothies are the best. You can also add spinach or kale (Overpriced) if you want to make the base more healthy.

You can grow and add wheatgrass as the base to a smoothie instead of kale.

One more tip!

Are you refreshed, and hydrated, and is your mind clear? This is the secret. Homemade iced tea. Super simple yet the best.

Whatever you choose, a chocolate flavor, ginger, or Jasmin tea, or if you have what it takes to consume two 800ml of green tea, you will be rocking your way with your favorite Jobsite tunes well before the weekend.
